Not One More!
Not One More! is dedicated to peace,
justice, and human rights for all.
If not now, then when?
If we truly seek to have a peaceful and just society, an important first step is to start voting for those candidates who actually support peace and justice for all. It is time to end the illegal and devastating wars and the continued destruction of our environment. Both mainstream parties (democrat and republican) act to protect the status quo by protecting corporate profit at the expense of the general public (meaning there will be more wars, more destruction of the environment; and less peace and justice for the people). Voting for the lesser of two evils has never resulted in advancing peace and justice for all on a sustainable level.
Issues that need to be addressed include: making protection of our environment a priority; having a government that acts in a legal and transparent manner (eliminate secret meetings and backdoor deals); implementing a true healthcare for all; ending corporate bailouts and subsidies with our tax dollars; and that is just a start.
Clearly the government, big businesses and mainstream media act to protect the dysfunctional and corrupt political/economic structure which causes continued harm to people and planet. That is not acceptable. These issues must be addressed on a national and global level. When you vote some somebody, you are giving your consent to the candidate and the policies that they implement.
We must end the idea that 'empire' is how we make this country great. Empire creates misery, injustice, harm and deaths on a global scale. Militaries protect empire. We must shut down the over 700 US military bases around the world. That money can be used to solve many of the country's problems.
Not one more unjust death, not one more unjust war, not one more unjust politician. When we are on a path that is unjust, we should not be surprised when we get to the destination and realize that it is unjust. We are losing our ability to be a fair and just society.
Change has to start someplace, and it has to start now. Let it start with you. Commit to only vote for those candidates who support peace, justice, and human rights for all. There are more than two parties. There is the Green Party and the Peace and Justice Party which support many of the issues that progressive democrats are now raising.

We see a continuation of the status quo:
- the predatory actions of our corporate elite
- the unwillingness and corruption of our elected politicians as they fail to protect the public trust
- destruction of the environment
- the failure of mainstream media to report on any substantial issue that would shed light on these injustices
It is time to recognize that many of our elected officials, the mainstream media, and the education system are working against 'We The People.' Let's stop giving our consent to these entities that continue to destroy society. It was nice to see the Occupy Movement come to Main Street, but the issues have not been resolved.
The 2016/2020/2024 Presidential election again offered democratic and republican candidates who have a history of supporting the interests of the corporate elite. The cost will be put on the general public, third world countries, the environment, and human rights for all. Voting for either candidate only serves to give our consent to the corporate elite.
Once again, mainstream media reports make it seem that there is a substantial difference between the democratic and the republican parties. While there are minor differences, both parties work together to support a war based economy, continue to give corporate bailouts, and promote policies that are harming people and the environment for financial profit. They fail to end corporate corruption because they benefit from it.
Of course, mainstream media always seems to find some excuse not to report the real news in a timely and accurate manner as they continue to act as weapons of mass distraction.
The wars and Wall Street handouts continue unchallenged, while real issues, like joblessness, healthcare, and environmental concerns are ignored or marginalized. As a result, real solutions are never discussed. Unfortunately, the public is more comfortable hearing the lies than seeking the truth.
An old indian saying: It is hard to wake up a man who is pretending to be asleep.
We need each voter's voice to speak up. Voting for the lesser two evils still leaves us with evil and an unjust choice. We need to identify our priorities, and find a candidate who will represent us. The problem is the 535 elected officials (senators and representatives) who continually fail to act in the interests of 'we the people.'
Not One More! supports the idea of voting for third party candidates. We can't afford to keep voting for the two corporate parties (republicans or the democrats) while they continue to fund the wars and supporting corporate interests over the public good?

want and not get it than vote for what I don't want, and get
it." - Eugene Debs

"I’ve learned from past experience that if you want to attain a goal you’ve got to be willing to lose and lose and lose, until either you prevail or those who come after you prevail. But a lot of people don’t like to lose, or they can’t endure losing. Well, I can do both—I can endure winning and I can endure losing. Enduring winning means that you don’t get satisfied with what you’ve accomplished, you keep going; you don’t become a jet-setter. And enduring losing means that you lay the basis for another push, for another struggle, for more and more people supporting reform." Ralph Nader |
Not One More!
Not one more war.
Not one more needless death.
Not one more injustice.
Not one more vote for a presidential candidate who is the lesser of two evils.
Not one more dollar wasted on
protecting corporate profits at the expense of the
American people.
Not one more rigged election.
Not one more politician who is more concerned about getting corporate payoffs and re-election than carrying out the job of being a representative of the people.
By voting for the lesser of two evils, we are giving our consent to the dysfunctional system where we are voting for a candidate who doesn't represent the public's interests, and in fact works against the public safety and liberties.

violent revolution inevitable.”

NOT ONE MORE! This web site was started in 2006 with the intent to get
Presidential candidates, especially in the Democratic Party, to support a policy based on
peace and justice by publicly committing to the Pledge for Peace. We
all saw what Bush and company were doing to the United States, Iraq, and the
rest of the world. We were also not so naive to think that this was a 'republican' problem
We continue to see the Democratic Party leadership let down
the progressive movement with the continuation of the war, not considering universal health care (single payer or medicare for all), corporate bailouts, increasing the bloated military budgets, etc.
2008 had a democrat as President and democrat majorities in both houses, and yet they failed to implement 'progressive' policies like ending the war and protecting the environment from corporate predatory actions. The reality is clear, it isn't that the democratic party 'can't' fix the problems, it's that they "won't" fix the problems. Their unequivocal support for the corporate elite is clearly evident, even if it meant acting contrary to the public good and the constitution.
If you want change, you have to make a change. When
you vote for the lesser of two evils, don't be surprised when it is all said and done that you still have evil. After all, when you are on a path, eventually you get to its destination.
Vote third party. Time to stop giving our consent to the status quo and the two corporate parties (republican and democratic) which provides primarily for the moneyed elite at the expense of the general public.

What is the Next Step?
Vote for those candidates that support your values. Don't compromise basic
principles of peace, justice, and human rights. It is not about winning.
It is about voting for those candidates that reflect your values.
Demand
that your elected representatives act in a manner that protects and promotes peace and justice. Secondly, make those responsible accountable for their
actions. It is clear that the president lied to the American people and
violated U.S. and International law. Impeachment would be an appropriate
first step.
Only when there are sufficient voices to call for
change, will change be made. It may be your voice that causes the
change, or it may need 1,000,000 other voices. But without your voice it
will be one less voice away from what is needed for change. Please use
your voice and vote for a candidate who represents peace, justice, and liberty for all.
Pledge For Peace
This
challenge is to any potential candidate who wants to get the support of the 'peace and justice' voters.
This especially applies to the democratic candidates.
What: If you support the peace process and want to get the peace and justice vote, make a Pledge for Peace statement that:
-
The current process of war is wrong, illegal,
and a violation of basic human rights.
-
The stated reasons for the war are based on lies, deceit and intentional misinformation.
-
Stop any and all
abuse and torture of prisoners and close Guantanamo Bay.
When: We ask that you make this Pledge for Peace
as soon as possible, as
each day we wait is another day of people dying needlessly. In fact,
some people will not support any candidate that hasn't already made the
determination that this War is a mistake and contrary to the basic
principles of liberty, peace, justice, and truth.
If you cannot support the peace process
in this timely manner, then the "peace and justice" movement cannot consider supporting you. Every day you wait is a betrayal to peace and
justice, and a horrible tragedy to those who will die, get maimed, or
traumatized by the reality of war. Now is the time to stand up against the U.S. occupation.
Why: There is
enough evidence at the present time for a rational person to make a determination
beyond a reasonable doubt that these wars are based on lies, and are illegal under
both U.S. and International laws. To support
the wars is contrary to basic democratic principles of freedom and liberty.
The
appropriate peace and justice candidate would already be outraged at the lies and
manipulations of the current and previous administrations. They would be formulating
an exit strategy that would include turning interim US occupation authority over
to a truly international peace-keeping authority. They would not support permanent US
military bases in Iraq or bombing in Pakistan, Afghanistan, or Iran.
Nor would they believe that
to withdraw from this illegal war
is
a dishonor to the soldiers who have already died. It is hard to believe that those soldiers who have already
made the ultimate sacrifice would want another of their brothers and
sisters to die in vain for a lie.
The truly peace and justice candidate would be
speaking out now, and not two years from now. Now is the time to publicly
speak out and be counted. We are looking for leaders, not followers. We
are looking for solutions, not political posturing. We are looking for a
candidates who can publicly state that this war, based on
lies and misrepresentations, is a mistake.
We have waited long enough.

Elected Official's Pledge:
I publicly declare that:
- The wars are being carried out in violation of U.S. law and International law.
The war is contrary to the basic principles of a democratic and just society, and fails to protect
basic human rights.
- The reasons cited for going to war are based on lies, deceit,
and fabrications.
- In compliance with the rules under the Geneva Convention, I further declare to immediately stop
any and all
torture and abuse at Guantanamo Bay,
and any other facility that is under the U.S.
control or its direction. I will end the current 'enemy combatants'
policy, and treat them in accordance and protections provided under international law
and the Geneva Convention.
- I pledge to make non-violence the
primary mechanism for conflict resolution.
This is suggested wording. Each person has to evaluate their own
beliefs and values, and publicly declare what they believe in and what they are
willing to stand for.

Community Member's Pledge:
As a community member of a caring society that supports peaceful efforts,
human rights,
and justice for all, I declare that I will only vote for, and support, any
candidate who is able to publicly
declare that:
- The reasons for the war are based on lies and deceit.
- The war is wrong because it violates U.S. and International laws, and
the basic principles of a democratic and just society. We must protect
basic human rights for all.
- They will act in accordance with the rules under the Geneva Convention,
and immediately stop any and all torture and abuse at Guantanamo Bay, and any other facility that is under the U.S. control or
its direction. The U.S. should not be conducting or condoning torture.
- They agree to making non-violence a platform of their candidacy.
Now is the time to oppose this unjust war, and I cannot in good
conscience allow this travesty continue, or support any candidate who has
chosen to let it continue.
Note: This pledge can apply to any candidate running
for any elected office.
This is suggested wording. Each person has to evaluate their own
beliefs and values, and publicly declare what they believe in and what they are
willing to stand for.
